UPCOMING UTILITY WORK
SILVER LAKE ROAD
May 4, 2018
The Horizon Building at the corner of Silver Lake Road and Leroy St. will be working on their exterior improvements over the next three weeks. Because of the location of utilities and the limited amount of area to work in, this construction work will have an effect on traffic flow.
Please note, the following schedule could change due to weather.
Starting Monday, May 7th, watermain installation will take place. A tap is needed on the watermain to supply water to the building. This work will not have any effect on the water quality of our system. Because the watermain is located beneath Silver Lake Road, there will be lane restrictions that could result into some traffic delays. Watermain work will most likely take 3-4 days to complete.
Once the watermain work is finished the street work will start. New curb and sidewalk will be installed along Silver Lake Road. For safety reasons and to allow room for the work to take place, there will be lane restrictions on Silver Lake Road. It is anticipated the street work will begin about May 14th.
Finally, starting on May 21st, the sanitary sewer installation will be performed. This will cause a full closure of Silver Lake Road. It is anticipated the work will be completed during the night to provide safety to the workers and limit the disruption to traffic. After the connections are made, the east bound traffic on Silver Lake Road will resume. However, westbound traffic will need to follow a detour. It is anticipated the detour route will include North Leroy St., North Road, and Poplar St. (same detour route as when the bridge was replaced on Silver Lake Road).
The schedule is to reconstruct the street as soon as possible after the sanitary sewer installation is completed. This will take about 3 days after the sewer work is finished. At this time we anticipate the street paving to take place May 23-25, with the street reopening when the paving is done.
All the work is weather dependent. Rain/severe weather could delay this work.
