Thank you for visiting the Building Department Area for the City of Fenton website. The Building Inspection Division of Protective Inspection Department is responsible for ensuring the health, safety, and welfare of all citizens of Fenton by enforcing the City of Fenton Building Code and City Ordinances.

The Building Inspections Department acts as the clearinghouse for zoning compliance, licensing, permits, construction restrictions and reviews. It also coordinates activity between itself, fire, planning, and public works. Besides reviewing plans, issuing permits, and inspecting buildings, this division also controls signs, fences and accessory structures.

Additionally, the department reviews and prepares for adopting the most current edition of the model building and property maintenance codes.

Through the Building Division, the department promotes high standards of community appearance, thriving neighborhoods, and a safe and secure environment.
