If you are a long-time resident of the City of Fenton, thank you for continuing to make our city your home. If you are a newcomer, welcome. The City of Fenton has recently been designated one of the fastest-growing cities in the State of Michigan, and there is a reason for that.

Housing

The choices are many when it comes to available housing. Whether it is single-family homes in beautiful neighborhoods, apartment communities in convenient locations or condominiums tucked away in lovely, wooded areas, the City of Fenton has it all. For those whose careers take them outside the city, they do not have far to travel since all major metropolitan areas, such as Ann Arbor, Lansing, Flint and the Detroit area are located within an hour's drive.

Business

Business in the City of Fenton is booming, which is evidenced by the number of new shopping areas, restaurants, and specialty shops that occupy every corner of the city, and they are still coming. We also boast a multi-million dollar industrial park, which is filled with strong, viable corporations, enhancing the employment market and tax base in the city.

Schools

The City of Fenton also boasts one of the finest school districts in the state, with 3 public elementary schools, a fifth- and sixth-grade facility, a new seventh- and eighth-grade building which opened in 2000, and a high school. In addition, the City of Fenton is home to a private parochial school for parents who choose a religion-based education for their children.

Municipal Services

Municipal services are second to none in the City of Fenton. The City has completed construction on 3 state-of-the-art facilities, including the Department of Public Works, located in the city's industrial park, and the Fenton Fire Department, located in the downtown area. Now that the Water Plant is completed and online, the City of Fenton is among the few communities in the State of Michigan to offer its residents municipal water softening. All of these facilities were constructed without raising taxes.
