The City of Fenton is reviewing the present provisions of Business Licensing. Currently, licensing is required for business owners operating:
- Pool Halls
- Amusement Devices (i.e., Arcade Games)
- Dance Halls
- Dog Kennels
- Food Establishments operating between the hours of midnight and 6 am
- Outdoor Gatherings (i.e., Concerts)
- Pushcarts and Food Vendors
- Sign Contractors
- Taxi Cabs
- Tree Trimming
- Operating a Pawn Shop
- Precious Metals Dealer
If you are interested in developing any of these types of businesses, please contact the City Clerk's Office for further details concerning what approvals and/or fees apply.
Peddlers and/or Solicitors License
The Fenton City Council has adopted Ordinance Number 647, which amends the solicitation and peddlers ordinance to comply with Michigan State law.
Door-to-Door Solicitation and Peddling is now allowed in the City and is licensed through the City Clerk's Office. If you wish to receive more information on soliciting or peddling door-to-door, please contact City Hall and we will be happy to provide you with a copy of Ordinance Number 647, along with the fee schedule.

The City of Fenton has a number of certified and bonded Notary Publics at City Hall, who are available to offer notary services at no charge, for your convenience.
