Stormwater Management

Most catch basins you see along the street end up in a pond, lake, or the Shiawassee River. As good stewards of the community, the City of Fenton is working hard to reduce the negative impacts these drains have on these waterways. We have design requirements that were implemented in recent years to treat this water before it leaves the conveyance system and enters the watercourse.

The City of Fenton is an NPDES Phase II stormwater community and is regulated through the State of Michigan. The City is part of a county-wide consortium to work together to protect the waters of Genesee County.
